Hi, I wanted to know how i could play a video on my laptop using arduino.
e.g.
if(condition)
{
play video; //how to code this part?
}

I want the video to be played on the laptop itself on VLC or similar software.

What has this got to do with an Arduino?
All you can do with an Arduino is send your laptop a message using the serial port. You need some software on your laptop to receive that message and play the video.

the Arduino IDE coding part! the condition is being satisfied/not using input from the arduino.

Maybe you can adapt this code to suit your needs or write an arduino sketch that sends the vales the python script is expecting?
Don't PM me for help as I will ignore it.

the Arduino IDE coding part! the condition is being satisfied/not using input from the arduino.
so all you need to do is:-
Code: [Select]
if(condition)
{
// play video; //how to code this part?
Serial.println("play");

}
