in any sketch if  " #include <WiFi101.h> " is used, I get this error...

C:\Users\John\Documents\Arduino\libraries\WiFi101-master\src\WiFi.cpp: In member function 'int WiFiClass::hostByName(const char*, IPAddress&)':

C:\Users\John\Documents\Arduino\libraries\WiFi101-master\src\WiFi.cpp:641:14: error: 'class IPAddress' has no member named 'fromString'

  if (aResult.fromString(aHostname)) {

@JG_225 what Arduino board do you have selected in the IDE? What board manager version is installed to support this board?

I suspect you are using an older Arduino core that does not have the new IPAddress::.fromString method.

I get the same issue.  Selected Arduino Uno board using IDE 1.7.9 and have downloaded the latest Wifi101 library from github.com/arduino-libraries.

@ejbaker IDE 1.6.8 is the latest release of the IDE, I suggest you download it from: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software
