Hi all, I'm having a few issues with my newly acquired Mega 2560 Arduino-Compatible board. (Sales link here)

I am using the current version of the Arduino software and drivers as of 13/04/16 on a laptop with the following specs:
Code: [Select]
OEM: Asus
OS: Windows 10 Pro
Processor: AMD FX-7600P
Processor Graphics: AMD Radeon R7
RAM: 8GB
Discrete Graphics: AMD Radeon R5 2GB
HDD: 1TB (2x 500GB Partisions)
Port: USB 3.0

I am getting the following console output when uploading:
Code: [Select]
Arduino: 1.6.8 (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560, ATmega2560 (Mega 2560)"

Sketch uses 2,284 bytes (0%) of program storage space. Maximum is 253,952 bytes.
Global variables use 35 bytes (0%) of dynamic memory, leaving 8,157 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 8,192 bytes.

he handle is invalid.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

The device is present in the device manager and shows that it is bound to COM4.I have also tried to solve this issue by using the following methods:

1. Restart computer
2. Change COM# in Device Manager (was originally COM3)
3. Change Flow control to "Hardware" (default "None") and back
4. Attempted to upload example sketches
5. Looked up other solutions on the internet (I wouldn't post here unless I'd already looked)
6. Reinstalled IDE

None of these solutions, or combination of solutions have helped. I have had success installing the IDE on another computer; and AMD desktop running Windows 10 Pro; and have had success uploading example sketches AND my sketch there. I successfully used both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 port on the desktop.

I sincerely hope that someone has a viable solution.

Were you also using Arduino IDE 1.6.8 on the AMD desktop computer?

elind21

I installed the same IDE, drivers, same port number and configuration (installed today).

One other thing I should probably mention is that the Serial monitor could not connect to the device either.

Try IDE 1.0.6 or 1.6.5 . 1.6.8 has some issues
