Topic: Connect Arduino Leonardo trough PS2 port (Read 834 times) previous topic - next topic

Hi guys,
I hope this topic is in the right section, if not please move it.

So, I have a PS2 port available on an old computer running Windows XP and I want somehow to connect it to serial interface like it is on USB.

A simple method is to use an USB to PS2 converter but I don't want to use this kind of device and I want to prove that it can be done without this.

I searched a lot on internet maybe, maybe I will find out an answer but without luck :(.
I have an Arduino Leonardo.
Please help me!
Do you have any ideas? :smiley-confuse:
Thanks!

No answer? So it is impossible to connect arduino trough PS2 port and transmit data on serial monitor?

As much as i know the PS2 ports on a pc are only for use with keyboard or mouse (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PS/2_port).
Although PS2 is (some kind of) serial connection I do not think you can "receive" its data with a serial monitor (like the one of Arduino IDE).
Always decouple electronic circuitry.

Bodge some wires onto the RS-232 Serial Port?

And Seriously buddy, upgrade your system, Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft.
