I'm happy to see the Arduino yun shield is out. I have 2 of them now and I'm ready to play.
I have 2 questions however about using the yun shield with the mega.

1) do I need a mega revision 3? The one with the extra headers?
2) I feel this topic is not very clear. https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/ArduinoYunShield#toc10 It is dubious wether it is needed only for the uno
I assume I need to bridge the pins to disable the usb to tty functionality.

2) it is needed for Uno, Mega and Duemilanove (all boards with 1 seria port)

have fun with the shields

Thanks for the feedback.
The document of yours  explains the problem and the solution very well https://www.dropbox.com/s/cit5zvuqh074k0o/Yun%20shield%20on%20non%20R3%20boards.docx?dl=0
This is exactly what I expected. I like the quick and dirty fix :-)

As to bridging the pins to disable the usb to tty functionality.
As I'm trying to get things to work I tried with and without the bridging. I saw no difference.
Can someone explain when I should see a difference?

Best regards
