Flash doesnt know where my Actionscript is

I'm using Flash CS4 for this project. So I've got an actionscript 3 package containing a class. This is separate from my main fla file, but they're in the same folder. The code works when I go to Control > Test Scene or Test Movie. However, when I export the project into swf, it doesn't seem to know where my actionscript file is. So the .swf would run, but none of the code.

I've never done this before, so I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do or not do. Any help would be appreciated.

Though some people use Flash to send data to and react to replies from the Arduino, this isn't a Flash/Actionscript/whatever you can't understand forum.

Apologies. I am in fact trying sending data from the Arduino to Flash but I suppose that was more of a Flash related question. I must have been tired.
