I use the step down to go from 7.4v to 5v.

I know the power supply can not go 15A as it only handle 5A max The problem as I said before is that with 5v doesn't increase over 1.2A, from my test with 3 amperes I will have enough to make my leds white.

Yes but voltage is only part of the story. What current do you think you can get out of this step down circuit?
