There are 36 leds like this (9x4)-

Each of the column glows one led, means 4 at once for whole. I am using Charlie Pixeling 4 times. Any suggestion to do it better?

So you are currently using 4x4=16 outputs?

What would be "better" than the way you have it now, in your view? Fewer outputs? Are the leds bright enough now? Would it be ok for them to be dimmer than they are now? What value series resistors are you using and how many?
