Topic: Filtering Active Sensing (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

Hi first post for me.

I have a midi controller that gives out active sensing. I want to build a simple Arduino circuit to do this. I've checked online and it would seem that the code required is as straightforward as reading the midi byte and if it is 0xFE, active sensing, then do not write it out.

Is this too simplistic?

Why do you need active sensing in the first place? None of the devices I've worked with required it.

Some MIDI devices may allow you turn off the Active Sensing. If not, if you detect 0xFE don't forward it.

Hi PieterP. Thanks for your reply but I think you have missed the point. I don't need active sensing; I want to get rid of it somehow.

Hi el_supremo . I can't turn the active sensing off on my midi controller unfortunately. So it looks as though you agree that it really is a simple case of ignoring the active sensing byte when read?
