Topic: Cant upload any sketch to new Arduino Micro (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

XPModder

I have some kind of problem with my new Arduino micro. When I try to upload any sketch (ive tried many different ones) the compiling of the sketch works fine, but when it starts uploading to the arduino my computer makes the sound, you get when a device is unplugged and after about a minute of uploading it failes. When I got the same problem again I enabled the advanced logging and that shows that for some reason the programmer of the Arduino is not responding at all.

Thats all the IDE shows.

It cant be a problem with the sketch itself, because Im also getting this error when uploading a sketch that runs perfectly fine on my arduino uno.

I dont know where this problem is coming from and how to solve it.

Update: Since Ive written the post above ive tried many different things: Uploading all kinds of different sketches and I even tried flashing the Bootloader using my Uno and the Arduino ISP sketch, but that didnt work either. It just fails and says that it couldnt burn the bootloader. I would guess that the arduino is damaged somehow, but since its completely new and Im getting this problem since uploading the very first sketch to the same Arduino I would think that it doesnt make sence... I dont think that they sell broken or damaged Arduinos...

Not sure if this helps: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Guide/ArduinoLeonardoMicro

There is a section Uploading Code to the Leonardo, Leonardo ETH and Micro
If you understand an example, use it.
If you don't understand an example, don't use it.

I am having the exact same problem. I have a brand new Micro running on MacOS 10.12.3. My arduino IDE version is 1.8.2. I am receiving this error:

Code: [Select]
avrdude: butterfly_recv(): programmer is not responding
