with original factory firmware?

johnwasser

Since Arduino.ORG merged with Arduino.CC the documentation has been moved to the Arduino.CC site:
https://store.arduino.cc/usa/arduino-uno-wifi

Unfortunately that page doesn't include the Tech Specs or Documentation tabs.  Fortunately that page was archived:
https://web.archive.org/web/20161119100055/http://www.arduino.org:80/learning/getting-started/getting-started-with-arduino-uno-wifi

Try following those directions.  I don't know if it will work but at least the "Arduino Uno WiFi" board is listed in the Arduino 1.8.2 IDE.

So tell us if the documentation from Arduino.org works for the Arduio.cc IDE.

Yes it works. The WiFi Uno factory firmware is based in the then version of JeeLabs esp-link.
It uses settings from platform.txt tools.avrdude.network_cmd and tools.avrdude.upload.network_pattern

OP perhaps didn't select the network port or didn't set the ESP to STA mode so it is discoverable with mdns.
