I have been working on a project that uses a pot as a steering wheel. My first attempt caused me to learn that some potentiometers taper, increasing the amount of resistance towards the end of travel, rather than apply equal resistance per amount the dial is turned. I went back to the shack today to buy a non-tapering pot to learn that they didn't have any in the style switch I needed. So, my question is this.... What is the formula I need to use to convert the amount of resistance to a physical dial position (say 45 degrees right of center)?
