Topic: Arduino /Genuino Uno does not connect to the IDE (Read 551 times) previous topic - next topic

I installed the Arduino plugin within my web browser (Chrome) and select the Arduino /Genuino Uno. The name appears in the field, but with a red cross (see attached screenshot). Apparently it is not connected. What to do?

See that little down arrow what can you see when you click that.

If its a clone you are using you need to tell it both the board AND the port.

BTW did you say YES to the boxes that appeared during the CREATE setup ?
If you didnt then sorry its not going to work.


It may not be the answer you were looking for but its the one I am giving based on either experience, educated guess, google (who would have thunk it ! ) or the fact that you gave nothing to go with in the first place so I used my wonky crystal ball.

Thanks, that helps. It is indeed a clone, so where can I find the port?

In your picture there is a small down arrow in the BOARD box.
click that and it opens up so more options,.
