Wiznet chip and 5V tolerance...

Hello,

I'm sure this has been asked around here, but I couldn't find any answers and the information on both the W5100 datasheet and the FAQ section of the Wiznet website aren't clear on this.

I'm planning to use the wiznet chip with a direct memory bus. But the boards that can do that operate at 5V (unless I drop to 8MHz) and I need to know if anyone has tried accessing the memory bus on the W5100 chip with 5V. According to the manual, you can only feed the chip with 3,3V, but apparently the pins are 5V tolerant... but the information on the website (which looks like was written by google translator) seems to indicate that the chip could be powered at 5V...

Has anyone used the direct memory bus with 5V? What's your thoughts on this?
