I got this problem because i cooked one of the usb ports on my computer, now i have to remember to use the other usb port.

I also have this problem. I've gone through all the recommended checks, and in fact the blynk-ser.sh script loads up and starts to cycle properly. The board is an Uno Wifi rev 2. I'm running macOS Big Sur beta, and some days ago had success uploading to an Uno (not Wifi). Here's my upload messages:

I tried everything but no luck. Then I replace my hardware with new one (Nano) and everything is OK.

With the old one, did you try both the Tools > Processor > ATmega328P (Old Bootloader) and Tools > Processor > ATmega328P options?

lxndr33

Hi
Tools > Processor > ATmega328P (Old Bootloader)
worked fine for my Nano 3.0 on windows 8
Thx

pert

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear it's working now. Enjoy!

Newbie here.... I've got another failure to communicate with the programmer:
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding (10x) whew... the retries are wearing me out!  :o

I have a custom design matching the Adafruit Metro: ATmega328P, cp2102n, please see the attached schematic clip for reference.  I've been successful installing the Arduino Uno Bootloader via AVR Pocket Programmer.  ATmega seems fine, executes the 1-sec blink test ok. Uploading sketches via programmer is working ok.

My challenge is trying to upload over USB.  The CP2102n enumerates fine, creates a new Port 10 which is visible in Device Manager.  SiLabs drivers are loaded and identify correctly in Device Manager.  Checked the port settings, baud = 9600. Updated the settings in Arduino for programmer = Arduino ISP, port = 10. Serial looks ok on O'scope.

Probably something simple and silly on my end.  Thanks in advance for your time and wisdom.

Best Regards,
Bob

pert

Uploading sketches via programmer is working ok.
When you do that, you erase the bootloader. So you need to do another Burn Bootloader before you can upload via your CP2102.

brown2bob

That was it!  Guess I blew away the bootloader with the programmer upload.  A million thanks!!!!
Best Regards,
Bob

Hello, I am having the same problem with my official Arduino Uno board that has been working flawlessly for the past month.  I have tried the official Uno on 2 macs and 1 PC with the same uploading error.  My generic SMD Uno board has no problems with uploading and works on all three computers with the same setup i.e. USB cable.  I am using MacOS Catalina 10.15.6 and have not installed any new updates or apps prior to the Uno board errors.

I have tried to reflash the bootloader using my generic UNO to my official Arduino but getting an error as well.  I will copy and post it on another message.

Remove any connections to pins 0 and 1 on your Arduino board. These pins are used for communication with your computer, including uploads. Connecting anything to these pins can interfere with uploads.

Make sure you have the correct board selected from the Tools > Board menu. Note that there are multiple boards with "Nano" in their name. The board you have selected in the Arduino IDE's menu is for the classic Nano. If you have a Nano 33 IoT, Nano Every, or Nano 33 BLE, you need a different board selection.

Make sure you have selected the port of your Arduino board from the Tools > Port menu.

Sometimes the port will be labeled with the board name in the menu. Other times it will not. If you don't know which port is your Arduino board, you can find it like this:
  • Unplug your Arduino board from the computer.
  • Tools > Port
  • Note the ports, if any, listed in the menu.
  • Close the Tools menu. The ports list is only updated when the Tools menu is re-opened, so this step is essential.
  • Plug your Arduino board into the computer.
  • Tools > Port - The new port listed in the menu is your Arduino board.

Have the same problem connect the Arduino Uno WiFi Rev 2 with hosts (Ubuntu and Win10) with different USB cables, on the board the LED L is blinking amber since the first power up and LED ON is solid green. Used both IDEs web and local version 1.8.13.

Under Tools the selected board is "Arduino Uno", and the port is /dev/ttyACM0 (Arduino Uno WiFi Rev2)

Board Info returns:
BN: Arduino Uno WiFi Rev2
VID: 03eb
PID: 2145
SN: 3E6A63C0EF2A705141A3

Compilation of the Blink code is error free and here is the upload log:
