Topic: avrdude: ser_open(): can't open device "\\.\COM3": Access is denied. (Read 90 times) previous topic - next topic


Hi! I'm updating my 3D printer and I tried uploading and got this error saying access is denied. Here is the error message below. Thank you :)

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.



Make sure that no other program running on your computer has COM3 open. The culprit is likely the software used to control your 3D printer.

If you have verified that no other program has the port open, then try restarting your computer. Sometimes COM ports will get stuck open and the restart fixes that.
