'I am having trouble installing the drivers for my arduino' - tells us nothing

I have an arduino uno, my OS is vista, IDE 0022. So far I have downloaded the arduino software. I have also downloaded the VCP driver from the FTDI website. Next I followed the steps to install the driver from the FTDI driver installation guide untill i get to the point where it says, "browse my computer for driver software (advanced)". I locate the file for the driver and then i get a message that reads, windows was unable to install your arduino uno... could not find driver software. So thats where I am at till this point. I hope that is enough info to start out with. Thanks.

The uno does not have an ftdi chip - just browse to the drivers folder in the arduino folder. That sould be it.

Ok I thought I already tried that but now I got the driver to install! Thanks Drew for your patience and understanding.
