Arduino version: 1.8.9 (Windows 10),
Board: "Generic ESP8266 Module, 80 MHz, Flash, Disabled, nodemcu, 26 MHz, 40MHz, QIO (fast), 1M (512K SPIFFS), 0, v2 Lower Memory, Disabled, None, Only Sketch, 115200"

Error - When I try to compile -anything- I get the following error message.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
exec: "C:\\Users\\Sams 4939\\AppData\\Local\\Arduino15\\packages\\esp8266\\tools\\xtensa-lx106-elf-gcc\\2.5.0-3-20ed2b9/bin/xtensa-lx106-elf-g++": file does not exist
Error compiling for board Generic ESP8266 Module.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've even gone so far as to uninstall everything arduino on my computer, and reinstalling, and it didn't help. The error is consistant, and seems to be specific to the ESP8266 module.

any suggestions?

Did that include deleting the contents of the C:\\Users\\Sams 4939\\AppData\\Local\\Arduino15 folder?
