Topic: CANNOT INSTALL ARDUINO IDE 1.8.9 ON UBUNTU 18.04.2 LTS (Read 293 times) previous topic - next topic

Hello,

I purchased an arduino compatible board ( Seeduino Lotus ) and I tried to install the Arduino IDE using the guide from the site. The example had the version 1.6.10. After I download it and unzip it I try to use the Terminal to install it. There this error shows up :
" rm: cannot remove '/usr/local/bin/arduino': No such file or directory
Removing symlink failed. Hope that's OK. If not then rerun as root with sudo.
"
Does anyone have an idea on how to fix it?

~Thank you

This warning is normal and expected on the first installation. You can safely ignore it.

Since this warning was causing a lot of confusion, the installation script has been updated to not show it. That will be in the next release of the Arduino IDE:
