Topic: speeding up Arduino start up time?? (Read 2193 times) previous topic - next topic

hi everyone,
I'm using the arduino mini on a battery operated project that has to last at least four months. I'm using a Latch relay to fully cut the power to the arduino when no need it. if I use the sleep or power off function of the arduino still is using a bit of current that will eventually drain the battery.
the system works fine but when turned on I need the arduino to response as fas as possible. I haven't tried with the Arduino Mini yet, but i tried with the mega and a 9 v battery and it takes at least a second to start executing the code. is there a way to speed up the start up time of the mini?

if its a permanent install, buy a blank chip, and burn the sketch to it with a programmer - no boot loader = no pause at start-up.
