I'm a (sad old) 61yr old trying desperately to re-visit my past in drum machine form..

I am trying to upload Jan Ostman's MiniPops O2 drum machine to a Nano..

I successfully uploaded a version of the sketch, but the trigger out doesn't seem to work...

I found another version of the sketch on GitHub - now including a lib file - it complies, but when attempting to load it I get the stk500 merrygoround..

Now, I think my problem is somewhere within the text below.

Sadly, screaming at the component parts of this nonsense doesn't seem to have any effect on it at all.

Any relevant suggestions would be appreciated...

avrdude done.  Thank you.

"I'm a (sad old) 61yr old trying . . ."

Quit bragging how young you are, it just makes us old timers sad and jealous! :(

Do you have the correct board type and port selected?

Can you upload the simple 'Blink' sketch to your board?

nano selected..

Up until a few moments ago I would have been reluctant to loose the (working) sketch I had on the board, but...
I read something somewhere else, changed the board in tools, tried to upload to the Nano, and it dumped the lot..

I'll try the blink sketch..

previously I was using a Raspberry Pi to load the sketch (which resulted in me getting the working, with no trigger version), but on using the alternative GitHub sketch another set insurmountable complications appeared..

on a lighter note..
I uploaded a theremin sketch to an Uno with no problem, from this I'm happy the IDE/puter set up is o.k.
