Hi all,

I have a Bluno MEGA 1280 from DFrobot, with a I/O expansion shield attached with a microSD card module. I've been trying to run the "CardInfo.h" example to see if my SD card can be read. Every time I try uploading the sketch to my controller, I always get the message "Initializing SD card...initialization failed. Things to check:". I have a 32GB microSD, and it's formatted to FAT32. The sketch is below:

Does anyone think if this is a coding issue? Or could it be a hardware issue? I've been struggling with this for the past few days and seem to be getting nowhere.

You can't write an Arduino sketch if you didn't learn programming. Not the language, but the concepts of programming - algorithms and data types.

Thank you for the reminder! I tried it this way and am still getting similar outcomes.

how did you wire it?
You can see from the pictures below. The controller is a Bluno MEGA 1280:


The I/O expansion shield sits on top of the MEGA 1280, connecting to digital pins 0-13, and analog pins 0-5:


The MicroSD card module is then connected to the dedicated SD pins on the expansion shield:

Mega doesn't have SPI on same pins as Uno. other shields use the ICSP header in the middle of the board to connect to SPI

What does that mean?

If you have not done so already, download and keep a pinout diagram for the UNO and Mega.

Then compare the UNO and Mega pinouts and see where the SPI pins, SCK, MOSI and MISO are.
