Topic: Getting start problem  (Read 393 times) previous topic - next topic

Boards Manager says (in RED)

"Error downloading https://downloads.arduino.cc/packages/package_index.json"

also at Win7 Device Manager -> Other devices shows "?" mark at "Arduino MKR WiFi 1010"

at Properties -> Driver Details says:
"No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device."

Any help much appreciated!!

Were you able to install Arduino SAMD Boards?

No, that's what I wanted to see, but UNO works fine and shows only AVR Boards. see captured img.

When you install Arduino SAMD Boards, it also installs the driver for your MKR WiFi 1010. So I think the problem with installing Arduino SAMD Boards is the cause of your driver problem.

Please do this:
  • After you get that error in Boards Manager, click the "Close" button.
  • Click on the black console window at the bottom of the Arduino IDE window.
  • Press "Ctrl + A". This will selected all the text in the console window.
  • Press "Ctrl + C". This will copy the selected text to the clipboard.
  • In a reply here, click the </> button on the toolbar.
  • Press "Ctrl + V". This will paste the copied text between the code tags.
  • Click the "Post" button.

Thanks, but, after taking time off for a week, error disappeared and it works now.
DK why.

Thank you very much for helping.

I'm just glad to hear it's working for you now. Enjoy!
