Topic: Dan Garcia (the FastLED library guy) (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

I really hope it's not true, but I just read on reddit that the main developer of the FastLED (addressable LED) library died in a boat accident a few days ago.

My first proper Arduino projects all used addressable LEDs.

Here's the reddit post.

It was also announced on Hackaday:

Very sad. Dan Garcia certainly made an important contribution to the Arduino community by putting so much excellent work into giving us a powerful, high quality library for addressable LEDs. I know that legacy will live on for many years to come, and I'm certain that's only one of many amazing things they did.
