I have a number of LEDs connected via 68595 multiplexers and all works well when running off USB power.  As soon as I try to run off locally connected LiPo 4400mAh battery via the JST connector, it appears the mkrzero does not have enough 5v supply to drive the LEDs (very dim at best). An in-line USB current meter seems to be indicating the mkrzero is only drawing 50mA during it's high output (most LEDs on) state - both with a fully charged battery connected and also running with no battery.  I see the mkrzero documentation seems to indicate it can supply up to 600mA through the 5v pin.  Looking for suggestions on where I'm going wrong.  Suggestions for my next steps troubleshooting?

Turns out I misread the 5v pin specs / intent .. only supplied from the USB connector.  I'll switch my multiplexer to 3.3v supply versus 5v. Means I'll need to learn to solder SMD.  Yet another good challenge.
