I have looked a lot and cannot find detailed info on this device - specifically the pinout with some details.
There must be some supporting material.

I have the versioin 3.0 which looks alot like the "Pinout of the original Mini USB Adapter" referenced in the second link. I clearly understand the 5v rx tx part, I want to understand the other pins.

The other pins are clearly marked.  Most of them are serial control lines.  They are all broken out from the FT232 chip.  For detailed information on those, look at the datasheet for the FT232.
