Hello All,

This has been requested before - many times - can the layout please be posted:

https://store.arduino.cc/usa/mkr-vidor-4000

Just looked on that page - only the schematics and dxf board outline.

Thanks and Happy 2020!
John W.

OK - so now, the GPS Shield files are there???

jwestmoreland

Hello,

So, when will the actual correct files for the MKR Vidor 4000 be posted?

Thanks In Advance,
John W.

Hello,

It's been fun having this conversation with myself.

So, can I claim that Arduino will never answer this question and the actual layout files for the Vidor 4K will NEVER be posted?

Regards,
John W.

I see some updates there, more pics/pinouts/etc in the "Documentation" section.

What exactly do you call a "layout file" ?

jwestmoreland

Please look here in the documentation section:

https://store.arduino.cc/usa/mkr-wifi-1010

Do you see "Eagle Files" .zip?  Those are layout files.
Most, if not all, of the other "open" hardware designs have those posted.

VStrakh

Ah, yeah. It's not there.
Got used to "PCB layout" term when talking about pcb traces. Simple "layout" sounds a bit vague.

Because of the board complexity it could've been done with costly Altium, and not with the Eagle that's freely available, even if limited to 2 layers in free version.
Still they could have drop a word, explaining why it's still not there, even if it's an excuse , kinda "no point in posting since nobody will be able to open it".

To The Arduino Staff That Can Actually Answer This Question,

This issue remains unanswered.

You need to contact someone with an @arduino.cc e-mail address, they don't follow the forums.

OK XRoads,

Just tried support!@... - seems that's the only one I have.

Thanks,

The Vidor wasn't design using Eagle but Altium. Currently, we are reworking the documentation so in the following months, we will make available the Altium files in the same way it is displayed on the Portenta page. https://store.arduino.cc/portenta-h7
