Topic: Best SMD equivalent to cheap 5mm 940nm IR LEDs? (Read 120 times) previous topic - next topic

Hello!

I have a project that works on my breadboard - it currently uses a single LED photodiode surrounded by three IR LEDs as a proximity sensor.

I want to lay this out in Eagle using SMD components.  Can anyone help guide me on what the correct type of SMD IR sensors would roughly match these breadboard types?  I'm poking around on Mouser and Digikey but there's a lot of options and I'm afraid of starting off with the wrong ones.

Thanks!

It all depends on what you're expecting to get out of those LEDs...

I'd say start by matching the different parameters of your THT LEDs, to find an SMD one that is as similar as possible.
