Topic: Better analog read resolution ? (Read 646 times) previous topic - next topic

Hello everyone,

Looking on the analogReadResolution() function help on the website (https://www.arduino.cc/reference/en/language/functions/zero-due-mkr-family/analogreadresolution/) I noticed future borads with a higher resolution ADC will become available. Does anyone knows when these boards will be available ? And what kind of resolution will they have ? For the moment, I know the highest is 12 bits on the Arduino Due (but it is currently sold out...).
Can we expect even higher resolution ? Like 14 or 16 bits ?

Thank you ;-)

The Arduino Portenta H7 is advertised as having:

Quote
3× ADCs with 16-bit max. resolution (up to 36 channels, up to 3.6 MSPS)
It's currently available for pre-orders.

In addition to the Due, Zero and MKR Family boards noted in that reference page, the Arduino Nano 33 BLE and Nano 33 BLE Sense boards also have 12 bit ADC.

Thank you very much for your answer pert. This arduino portenta could be a good option for me indeed because of its 16 bits CAN.
