Hi All...

I am using an Arduino compatible board Crossroads and I designed. Its based on an Uno but with a 1284P processor. It uses the FTDI chip for USB/Serial interface.

The symptoms are when is is powered up, the TX and RX LEDs come on solid and the Windows 7 PC does not see it as a serial port. Pressing reset causes the boot loader to reinitialize; I know because the light blinks the correct pattern. Is there something that can happen to that FTDI chip? I realize the board may need repair, but I thought I would ask to see if this is something that happens.

Thanks...

Got a circuit? Sounds like the auto-reset isn't quite right.
Please post technical questions on the forum, not by personal message. Thanks!

Yeah I can probably extract that part of the schematic, because posting the entire thing will just be too much. But its been working for months. I'm worried there might be some little issue that rears its head after time :-( I'll see if I can post part of the schematic, thanks.
