I found a design error on the MKRWAN1300. Pin 4 of the Murrata LoRa chip is tied to +5V. The Murrata data sheet specifies the absolute maximum for this pin to be 3.9V. Also the name of the pin on the MKR board is VBUS but it is VDD_USB in the murrata datasheet. Since VDD_USB is the power for Pins 1 and 2 and these are not used it seems this is not and issue other than it violates the maximum voltage spec.
