Hello!

This is Gabriele and Nicolas. We are two students currently following our master's in mechanical engineering at the TU Delft University.

We are embarking on a start-up idea related to agriculture. We are currently looking for electronics enthusiasts, or anyone who thinks could be a good fit.

We truly believe in our idea and we are looking for people who are willing to help and most importantly to become an active part of this project and join the team.

If you are interested in hearing more about the project and think you could be a good fit please contact us at g.ansaldo@student.tudelft.nl. We are more than excited to hear from you and tell you more about the project!

What do you expect and what's the expertise you are looking for?

gapansi

We are looking for people with knowledge/expertise/experience with electronics (i.e. working with various sensors, creating PCBs etc.).

We are planning on building our first prototype and someone with more knowledge than us in this field would be a perfect fit.

We will be pitching our idea showing the first prototype in January and many investors will be present. Better impression better chances to get funding!

So somebody should work for free or how do you plan to solve the budget part?

As you may already know when working on a start-up, especially at its birth, the budget is somewhat limited. The concept of a start-up is to gather enthusiasts and work together to reach a specified goal.  You won't earn much in money in the short term if that is what you mean, however, the experience is what you gain. What you earn by joining our start-up is indeed equity.

I hope this clarifies your doubts.

So if the goal has been specified, can you tell us what it is ?

And if the specified goal is achieved how will a collaborator benefit ?

No PMs please, they dont get answered.

i thought you were looking for people with the experience already ;)

Joke aside, you will mostly find freelancers here who expect payment in exchange for their time and skills.

Investors will also look at your ability to raise love money first. If people you know well don't trust your potential with actual money it's not a good sign. If you have a bit of a budget then you can buy some work.

But... Having a dependency on Joe Random from over the internet  for a critical piece of your product pitch / presentation will not fly well with investors. They usually put money in a team with ambition and vision and if the technology is mostly what they invest in and if you don't have those skills, then you probably need to focus efforts in finding your lead engineer / CTO locally and have her/him sit at the table when pitching.

And pitching should not be "in January" it should be when you feel you have something convincing to show: a team, with a solid business plan, with a good prototype demonstrating the idea. You don't get two shots at this...

Good luck, it's nice to see the young generation with energy and ambition to create something.
