I presume you have watched the video from the Original Post.

My (limited) understanding of it is that while the toaster may be connected by wires to Drax power station the actual power that the toaster uses does not come through the wires, it comes from the universe.

By all means correct me if I have it wrong.

It puts energy into the field around the cable. The wire's internal charges support the whole external field.

Without the wire,  field power drops off quickly with range.

The current my motor uses isn't the same current just leaving the PS either.

Between the generator and user are many stages, some at voltages and frequencies florescent tubes light up just being in the changing field but see how far away even that small effect quits.

The effect in the video relies on moving charges, it's an opposite and equal force, and we find out how the circle closes.

DSL uses the field outside of the twisted pair wires to reach much higher speeds than modem signal inside of the wire.
