ARDUINO MKR ETH SHIELD
Jan 13, 2021, 12:14 am
Hello,
I am looking for a board with Ethernet interface and a few Digital I/O pins. Does the
ARDUINO MKR ETH SHIELD have any Digital I/Os.
Thanks

The MKR ETH Shield is a shield. Shields are PCBs that can be plugged in to a standard Arduino board in order to easily add additional capabilities. In the case of the MKR ETH Shield, the added capabilities are an Ethernet controller and an SD card. So the MKR ETH Shield can't be used as a standalone Arduino board. You need another board to connect it to. It will plug right in to any of the MKR boards. An excellent option would be the
MKR Zero
. The combination of the MKR ETH shield plus a MKR board would definitely provide you with the Ethernet interface and digital I/O pins you are looking for.
