Topic: Logging Solar Power... (Read 1 time) previous topic - next topic

I've got a small solar cell and the arduino board. I would like to find which window in my apt has the best chance at placing a solar charger for phones, ipods and other devices we have. What would be the best way to use the cell I have w/ the arduino to measure voltage and current and store several days worth of readings? Even more ideal would be to plot those readings somehow aftwards and have the arduino operate on its own. I would like to place it in several windows, log the info over a few days and compare the graphs from each to see which would be best...

Any suggestions or starting points?

The greatest starting resource I ever saw are the "Nuts & Volts of BASIC Stamps" volume 1 & 2, which is a compilation of articles from "Nuts & Volts Magazine" at http://www.nutsvolts.com/. These articles are all written in Basic for the Stamp, but since Arduino is the stamp killer, they will be very adaptable to your usage. Hope that helps!
