What about a mosfet? Relatively high current capacity with relatively low gate drive.
If properly sized, wired with correct gauge wire
properly heatsinked, and with the typical series gate resistor and gate to source pull-down resistor
, and if the user has experience with construction and packaging such circuits a power mosfet can be a good solution.
Not sure it's a better and cheaper solution then that inexpensive automotive relay, but it's always nice to have options.Lefty
