This is a new computer it never had 0018 on it before. And 0018 has the same problem. Turns out that it is a Windoze 7 problem (go figure) not a problem with 0018 or 0018. I suspect it is a problem with the way Win 7 displays (or actually does not display) USB/comm ports.
I have looked at some of the FTDI sites on the web and not found anything that helps. I was told by a friend that sometimes Win 7 does not display the settings and has to be turned on before it will. Unfortunately he cant remember what he did to display the settings.
Any ideas are better than what I have
