10 pin, 2 digit, 7-segment (common cathode) display EAGLE footprint?

Looking for:

10 pin, 2 digit, 7-segment (common cathode) display EAGLE footprint

I can only seem to find a 1, 3 or 4 digit part..not a two? :frowning:

The only 2 digit ones I can find are 18 pin ones? (why? whats the difference? just not matrix wired style?, whats the advantage?)

Anywho..

can anyone help with where I can find a 10-pin EAGLE part/library for 2 digit, 7-segment display?

know or even suggest a library?

(plan on using it with a MAX7219 chip, and I cant find it by searching in EAGLE parts lib.)

thanks!

I had a similar problem and found this tutorial showing how to modify an existing part. I was surprised at how easy it was. In your case, just start with the three-digit part.

If you have the manufacturer's part number, see if you can find it on Mouser.com. You can get the footprint from then.

Where do you find hte EAGLE part file/.lbr file on the Mouser page?

example part:

Click on "Build or Request". They will ask for an email address and put your request into the queue. Mouser is pretty agressive to making libraries for every part and customer requests go to the front of the line. I did one request and got the component library the next day. No charge and no nagging me to buy from Mouser.

If you see this, then the footprint is already done and you can download it immediately.

You will need the Library Loader program to convert the file to Eagle format. I don't recall where in the process, but you are given the option to make the converter a plug-in for Eagle.

I put in a request..

on this part:

Which -SHOULD- be the same part as these...yes?

or

  • Common cathode
  • Red <- doesnt matter I suppose LOL
  • 0.56 digit height (this is the common size...yes? I know there are smaller/bigger sizes as well).. but I think these match

Unfortunately, I donโ€™t think that there is much standardization of display pinouts...

HA!...

So Ive noticed. LOL

Although I -think- the new part Mouser just posted will match up with the actual part(s) from ebay.

0.56" display size
0.1" pin spacing
10 pin pinout
