You can't energise that relay if you feed it with AC, it simply will not operate.

That does not sound promising.

What sort of current is drawn by the solenoid? You may not have enough current capacity to drive it.

It doesn't help that you are not cooperating with us, you are telling us very little that makes sense. We need to know things like links to all the components you bought so we can see exactly what they are.

A relay is simply a mechanical switch with three connections, common, NC (Normally Closed) and NO (Normally Open.). The normal bit means when the relay is not energised). So this means that without triggering the relay the common pin is connected to the NC pin. When it is triggered, you will here it click when this happens, The common pin is connected to the NO pin.

That is it. You will get no power out of either pins unless power is applied to the common pin.

You will notice that he didn't get it right. In particular he totally misunderstood what the flush call does. It doesn't empty the buffer but simply pauses while something else emptied the buffer. He didn't know what he was doing either.
