12V battery and charge regulator

I’m using a power supply made of a 10W 12V solar panel (similar to this: http://www.amerescosolar.com/bsp10-12-lss), a 7 Ah battery and a charge regulator .

I assume that the charge regulator will send a voltage higher than 12V to charge the battery (maybe around 13.5V).

I’m wondering if connecting an Arduino Uno to the battery will damage the Uno when the battery is charging and the Uno receives a voltage >13V.



Maybe it won't damage it, but the regulator will get pretty darn warm.
