12v Input sensor

Hi,
I want to read 12v input sensor by arduino nano with external power 12v on Vin Pin.Is it possible?
Or I have to convert to 5v and then connect to A0 pin.
Please help as soon as possible.

Do you have a sensor that outputs analogue up to 12v? Or is it a digital output?

Whatever the case, you cannot feed the input with any more than 5v. The easiest way is via a voltage divider.

Please give full details on your project.
