16 Beat Sequencer

Hi there. Myself and a friend are making a 16 beat, 64 button music sequencer as part of a college project. We're mounting 64 buttons onto a table, along with 64 tri-color LEDs. An arduino will link the buttons and LEDS to Max, I'm just wondering how to control the 64 buttons, and all the LED legs from one board. If you could let me now components i'll need, or tutorials. I'm new to this so any help will be great.

You're going to need to matrix your buttons and LEDs, and with that many of each, I don't think you're going to be able to get all of either buttons or LEDs to connect to one Arduino without some additional hardware and a fair amount of code.
