16 Segment Alphanumeric single digit LED Displays

Hi Guys,

I am just wondering whether it is possible to get a 16 segment alphanumeric display that is single digit and RGB. I have seen these in the 7 segment design (NEW PRODUCT – RGB 7-Segment Digit – 1″ Tall Digit « Adafruit Industries – Makers, hackers, artists, designers and engineers!), but I really need to be able to display numbers and letters in multiple colours. I don't mind where it comes from, but if possible, the UK would be nice.

So, what exactly is your question ?
the 7 segment CAN display numbers and letters (with some restrictions).

The only other way i know (yet) is to use a RGB LCD or Color TFT

Best bet might be RGB 8x8 matrix. I've not seen a tricolor 16 segment anywhere.

Size will be largish, 3 LEDs at each location takes up room.
