16x2 LCD at 50 degrees ambient temperature

I plan to use 16x2 (JHD-162) in an outdoor product. Though, it will not have direct sunlight on it, yet, the ambient temperature may be about 50 degrees centigrade (most of the time) due to some other machinery next to it.
Expected life of product is 5 years.

Will the 16X2 survive?

Thanks,
WI

Many LCD so called 'datasheets' do not say anything about maximum temperatures but many of those that do include the information list the maximum operating temperature as 70C and the maximum storage temperature as 80C.

It looks like you can take a chance with the display you have chosen and probably get away with it or else you can choose a display for which you can get a decent datasheet.
