16x2 LCD Current in contrast adjust pin

Hello all,

Do any of you know how much current flows into the contrast adjust pin of a hitachi type 16x2 alpha numeric LCD? I'm just looking for a rough range. The datasheet for my LCD doesn't seem to indicate it. I'm asking because I'm running an Arduino Due, and would like to connect one of my DAC pins to the contrast adjust pin, this way I don't have to attach a potentiometer to that pin. I'm not sure if I should directly connect it, or if I'll have to add a buffer in between the DAC pin and the LCD contrast pin.

Most likely it is negligible, especially when you consider that the current drain of the entire LCD (not including the backlight) is typically only a few milliamperes.
