16x2 Lcd flickering

I have a 16x2 Lcd that I attached to my arduino Uno with the Hello World code, and it is flickering. It shows one row of white boxes when powered on but not connected to the arduino. Video

I have done that! Bad programming!

I re-connected it multiple times, and I'm using the example code from the Arduino website...

It could have been connected wrong each time or as previously stated you could have one or more bad wires.

How about a photo (not a video) that we can use to check out your wiring? Also, be sure to check the continuity of each of your jumper wires.

Each time I used different wires, and I took it apart already...
