I'm really new to all of this. I know very, very little, so any help would be very much appreciated.
I'm trying to get two Arduino mega boards to send and receive data with each other via a XBee 2mW Series 2.5 Chip. I've searched for help with this, but it all assumes you know how this stuff works. Can anyone help me or point me in the right direction?
Which Xbee products have you looked at? What kind of documenation and applicaiton notes and coding examples do they have? Certainly survey all the available Xbee information already available, download it, study it, and then come back here with specific questions for the parts you don't understand. Remember that if you are asking questions about a particular reference, include the reference so we can read it ourselves and see what you are asking about.
As of right now, the closest I've gotten to getting the computer to talk to the XBee is with http://www.instructables.com/id/Changing-Xbee-Baud-Rates/step1/Welcome-to-XCTU/ but I can't get XCTU to recognize and identify the XBee.
That section assumes you know how to connect and program the Arduino and Xbee to communicate. I can't even get the Xbee to communicate with the laptop. It's frustrating because all of the forums and help topics I've found assume that the connection part works.
Please link me to the EXACT xbee modules you want to / have already bought... The exact same website and everything!
I went to the youtube video, but that doesn't address my problem. After I plug in the Xbee and start up XCTU, the program doesn't recognize the Xbee. And because XCTU doesn't recognize the Xbee, nothing else can be done.

Is it possible that the miniUSB cord is the wrong one? It works with one xbee that was purchased separately with a rabbit board, but not the 3 i bought at the link above.
