Hey All! TIA for any insight.
Heres the setup.
Is this even possible?
Stream g-code from my home desktop to my cnc machine 4 miles away. Home base has my desktop connected to LAN. Shop doesnt have wifi...I was thinking about using Iphone hotspot to create local wifi network and using remote desktop app to control my computer.
Long story short I have 2 R4's sitting here collecting dust and dont want to buy another computer. I need to stream g-code to my cnc at my shop.
Thoughts?
Hi @lobes9812.
I'm sure you can do that.
I don't see how these are involved in the project.
Is there already a computer at the shop that you use with the CNC equipment?
Its actually brand new I originally had it in my home shop...just upgraded
I am using a blackbox wifi...not sure if you would support this....the original plan was to build an arduino based cnc controller but after too much frustration I hit the easy button tbh
It seems straightforward to me. Just set up a remote desktop on the shop computer, access it from your home computer and control the CNC remotely from the remote desktop just as you would if you were at the shop. The UNO R4 boards aren't going to be useful for this particular project.
