2 position controller with 1 set point

Hello Arduino Fans!

My name is Nick and I am working on a project for school. i have to make a 2 position controller that makes pin8 high or low. the range on A0 is between 0 and 5V. when the measured value on the A0 is ≤ 1.8V the pin8 has to go high. can you guys help me with a programme because i don't understand anything about bits and you surely do.
