2 wire Brushless DC Pump

I am trying to understand how to control a 2 wire brushless dc pump, like:

There is lots of information on how to control a 3 wire pump using an ESC but I can't seem to find any reference on how to do it with a 2 wire pump? Do I just use a PWM circuit?

Not sure PWM will work, the motor is likely like a brushless fan, ie a motor and motor control circuit
all in one, with decoupling and all sorts.

They show control by varying the supply voltage using a variable buck converter.
